El Grupo de Oceanografía Biológica (GOB) del Centro de Investigacións Mariñas (CIM) de la Universidade de Vigo oferta un contrato postdoctoral financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades. Esta contratación se enmarca en el proyecto BlueAI-Uvigo (AI-based solution for marine environmental remediation, AIA2025-163560-C43), coordinado por las investigadoras Beatriz Mouriño Carballido y Marta Sestelo Pérez, en la línea de investigación Técnicas estadísticas avanzadas e inteligencia artificial aplicadas al estudio del fitoplancton tóxico.

Contrato postdoctoral (3 años)

El contrato, con una duración de 3 años (36 meses), está dirigido a investigadores/as doctores/as interesados en incorporarse al grupo GOB para trabajar en el desarrollo científico del proyecto BlueAI-Uvigo.

Perfil requerido:

Doctor/a en Estadística, Matemáticas, Física, Oceanografía, Ingeniería o afín, con experiencia contrastable en programación (Python, R, MATLAB), manejo de herramientas de análisis de datos y aplicación de técnicas de inteligencia artificial y machine learning.

Funciones a realizar:

Se emplearán técnicas estadísticas avanzadas e inteligencia artificial para predecir los períodos de aparición de fitoplancton nocivo y para investigar sus forzadores ambientales en las Rías Baixas gallegas (NO de la Península Ibérica). El trabajo también incluirá la descripción y difusión de los resultados mediante la preparación de artículos científicos y su presentación en reuniones científicas.

Se ofrece:

• Contrato postdoctoral de 3 años.
• Retribución bruta mensual 2.925,00 € (incluido el prorrateo de las pagas extraordinarias).

Postdoctoral Contract (3 years)

This 3-year contract (36 months) is aimed at postdoctoral researchers interested in joining the GOB group to work on the scientific development of the BlueAI-Uvigo project.

Required profile:

PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Oceanography, Engineering or a related field, with verifiable experience in programming (Python, R, MATLAB), use of data analysis tools and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.

Duties to be performed:

Advanced statistical and AI techniques will be used to predict periods of harmful phytoplankton occurrence and to investigate their environmental triggers in the Galician Rías Baixas (NW Iberia). The work will also involve the description and dissemination of results through the preparation of scientific papers and their presentation at scientific meetings.
